The Rights in Malaysia Module has taught us about the Federal Constitution of Malaysia. Through this module, we have obtained the knowledge of the three branches of government and the laws within the constitution.
We understand the purpose and function of the three branches of government; which is the Executive, Legislative and Judiciary. We have learnt that Malaysia has a partial separation of powers due to the overlapping of powers within the three branches. In addition, this module has taught us about our fundamental rights and liberties. We know that we have a right to life, freedom of speech, freedom of religion and many more due to the various provisions under the Federal Constitution. We understand that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong may issue a Proclamation of Emergency and Ordinances made have the same force and effect as an Act of Parliament.
In this Eportfolio, we shall be focusing on the fundamental liberties as part of our human rights as a human being.
